Fee Based Insurance Solutions
At TRG, our goal is simply to provide you with the best and most unbiased information so that you can be confident in your financial decision making.
As such, TRG can help you answer questions like these:
– Is my agent recommending a good life insurance policy for me?
– Should I keep this policy that I own?
– Is life insurance a good investment?
– Should I buy an annuity?
Under a fee-only insurance agreement, we don’t sell insurance products. We help people make informed decisions about insurance, and our clients pay us to give them a complete picture of their options.
For new insurance policies, we provide independent evaluations of proposals and projections and recommend the companies and products likely to offer the best value. This approach minimizes policy expenses and substantially increases benefits.
We also review the performance of existing insurance policies. Most of them are not performing nearly as well as the projections made when the policies were sold. Many “permanent” insurance policies are on course to fall apart, without corrective action, before the deaths of the insured.
Our services include long-term care and disability insurance and annuities as well as life insurance.
TRG will work with your other financial advisors, including your agent, to help you make decisions that are right for you.
How much do you charge?
For most assignments, I charge an hourly fee, with a maximum number of hours that is agreed upon at the beginning of the assignment. For some assignments, I charge a fixed fee. In rare cases, I charge a contingent fee or a reduced hourly fee with a contingent bonus.
Do we need to meet in person?
No. I have clients throughout the U.S., and I’ve never met most of them. E-mail, phone, fax and video chat services work fine for communication.
Do you do all of the work yourself?
In most cases, yes. For some assignments, I also use a research assistant.
Are you a fiduciary?
I believe that my practices comply with fiduciary standards, and I am willing to go through any checklist that a client has in mind.
